Shared note	Married Susan Walling in Frederick, Maryland. They had 4 children. 1850 census of Cumberland, MD shows S.D., wife and children, but his age is given as 39. He was a confectioner. Acc. to I.V. Founer, family genealogist, he died in his Fayette St. home, Cumberland, in 1885, and was buried in St. Peters and Pauls Cemetery. He was very deaf. According to the Cumberland Times obituary of his wife, Susan Walling, she died 27 Oct 1879. Frederick News obituary lists his death as 1 August 1892 at 4:45pm (from obituary 3 Aug. 1892), his birth as 1 Feb. 1812, apprenticed at age 14 as a wheelwright, and was a confectioner and a grocer, and for awhile worked as a clerk in a shoe store, and then worked for Mr. J.W. Donnelly [son-in-law]. After his wife's death, he moved in with his daughter Mary Schardt. Census data of 1860, 1870, 1880 list him as a carpenter or house carpenter.
