Obituary Winona Daily News 13 Jan 1959

Published in the Winona Daily News, 13 Jan 1959:

Frank J. Breyer, 84, 452 E. Broadway, died at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Francis Hospital, LaCrosse, after a short illness.

He was born Dec. 8, 1874 in Buffalo County, Wis., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Breyer, and retired from farming to Winona in 1943. He married Daphna McCabe Nov. 19, 1907.

Mr. Breyer was an honorary life member of Arcadia Knights of Columbus Council 1654, St. John's Church and its Holy Name Society.

Mr. Breyer is survived by his wife, a son, Leo F., and a brother Nicholas, Winona; a sister, Mrs. Louisa McCabe Arcadia, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A daughter, Florence, died in 1912 and three brothers and four sisters are dead.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Church. The Rev. James D. Habiger will officiate and burial will be in the Catholic cemetery at Glencoe, Wis.

Friends may call at Burke Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon and evening. The Holy Name Society will say a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Father Habiger and the Knights of Columbus will say a Rosary at 8 p.m.
